I and my wife go here for swimming classes. Beautiful place, lot of facilities. Water is not warm as per my wife’s expectations. ;)

The most beautiful swimming pool of Amsterdam. It is not a big pool but sufficient. The changing cabins are spacious and comfortable. The temperature of the pool water is just right, not too cold and not too warm. There is a fountain on the shallow end of the pool that you can use as a wonderful massager as you let the water fall onto your shoulders. It is not always running, but you can always ask the friendly staff if they will turn it on for you. It is best to check their website before you visit as there are often special programmes going on like aqua jogging or swimming lessons or what not.

Hier GEEN zwemlessen nemen. Veel roulatie onder zwemleraren/leraressen. Sommige zijn okay, anderen gewoon slecht. Na eindeloos slechte ervaringen met de lessen zelf, nu ook administratief benadeeld. Eén persoon zegt dat je klaar bent met betalen en een week later moet je alsnog voor een les betalen waarvan eerder is gezegd dat deze gratis zou zijn. Enfin. Ga AUB naar een ander zwembad.

It's a nice old building, but the swimming lessons are very bad. The whole experience is very impersonal; I doubt that the instructor knows my kid's name, even after many months. There is no communication at all; there is an app that they are supposed to update with your kid's progress, but they never update it. I mean, why would they? If one kid drops out, there are a dozen more on the waiting list, so there is no incentive to do a good job. And as others here have mentioned, you have to wait on an idiotic line every time just to show your card, even in 2025. And that line is weirdly in the middle of a busy staircase, which is uncomfortable and dangerous, especially for the kids. We are switching to a proper swim school ASAP.

Prachtig bad maar op het zwembadrooster is geen peil te trekken. Na 18:00 zouden er geen zwemlessen meer zijn, kom je aan, weer het halve bad afgesloten voor zwemlessen. op de resterende helft weet men niet hoe je een bad moet delen, want je gesprek waarmee je de helft van het resterende deel inneemt is veel belangrijker. Wil je liever wat harder zwemmen dan ongeveer stilliggen kan je beter een ander bad opzoeken. De kluisjes zijn ook een ramp

The website allowed me to purchase a ticket for a time when lane swimming wasn't actually running.
Lane swimming in fact means the lane has a wall on only one end, leaving you to awkwardly turn while floating. This is fine if you're a pensioner who enjoys floating around in the FRONT CRAWL lane but not if you actually want to swim. The problem seemed to be lost on the staff, I'm willing to put it down to something being lost in translation but this is still dishonest advertising on the website.
Even if the lanes had walls on both end, the tiles are incredibly slippery so doing flip turns is impossible.
The changing facilities look like something from the 1800s.
Waste of 6 EUR and an hour. In a country that is 25% water it's not like there's a lack of competition. Nieuwe Meer is free :)

The pool has immense potential, but my experience with lane swimming has been less than satisfactory due to poor management. The staff consistently delays setting up lanes, fails to maintain order (for example allowing backstroke swimmers in freestyle lanes), and neglects preventing people from chatting in the lanes instead of swimming, creating a frustrating environment for those trying to work out on a tight schedule.
